well thanks for the two cents guys, guess i'll just give it away or have to pay someone to take it...
well the price is negotiable and while it is a huge red flag that it's salvage but it's also a possibilty to save money when something is well inspected.
the aftermarket stuff is a loss when it's not needed, but let say the gears and Posi, is way better then it would be stock...
well ok guess i'll go have dinner.

The only reason why I wouldnt buy a truck that was previously re-geared is because I dont know who put those gears in and whether or not they were properly installed. Basically everything that is aftermarket I would want a reference as to who did it and what parts they are. Its basically a tossup, if you can find someone who doesnt know much about that stuff and likes the sound of them then you can probably get a good sell, but otherwise most people who know that stuff well will be somewhat scared away from it because of the risk of how well it was taken care of. Also the rental thing is a little bit rough as well, and whether or not the truck was wheeled.

Here is what I know about my truck being salvage title.
This vehicle at one point was stolen and not recovered which gets paid off by insurance.
it was finally recovered it was missing all the interior which was removed to steal all the audio and video system this vehicle had.
so now it gets auctioned and due to it missing it`s interior it has to be labeled a Salvage vehicle (not operable in current condition)
thats when i bought it.
being a ASE auto tech and school bus inspector.
I can pretty much tell that no driveline or body parts have ever been removed.
only what was needed to do the lift kit and transfer case alighnment.
it has been my trusty vehicle for five years.
and while it does have few dings and scratches it is solid looks great and rides very nice.
with probably less miles then most.
