Do you have the step bars. I have them and was going to order some blue ones and mount the right on the back of the step bars. where the bolts go to mount the step bar. I have looked under there and it looks like a good place to mount them. You will be able to still see the color and will look good. I think with a red truck go with a different color cuase it will stand out more. I have a black truck and Im going with blue. If you go on www.k2motor.com, they have new leds ones. they look sick. Hope this helps.

You also may want to check your local laws. Down here you can have 'em, but they can't be emergency colors. (Red or Blue) Again, that's down here and they will pull you over every block if they see you with them on. It's ok to have them on if you're parked, but you can't drive with 'em. I used to have the 7 color multifunction led's on my old Ranger. I've gotten pulled for it once, before I decided just to just run the green and white only.

UV black lights in a strobe setup for the win

Where to mount them depends on your kit and whats all included. What kit did you get?

ahh yea if you go LED i think you can get the tubes with multiple colors. The controller should give you control over which colors and paterens you want to run.

Strobes are illegal in almost every state especially if the lights are red or blue. You also cannot see the bulb or it is considered illegal because it can distract other drivers. That's Kansas law, I'm about 90% sure that most other states are pretty close to the same with their laws.
