Default Hi everyone, I'm new to this so just want to say hi

Hey everyone, I've been reading all of your posts for a couple of months and its great that we have a forum about the v6 rams. I have a 2003 ram with a v6. I really haven't done to much to it but put a turbo muffler on it, removed the shoulder from the airbox (it seems to give a lil higher rpm), and put some Toyo AT's on it along with ahole bunch of little mods. Cant spend too much because of college but hopefully i can get some jba headers then a gibson exhaust this year. But what ive been wondering is if any of you guys have a posi rear end specail orderd from the factory?

Welcome, my truck had an open diff. and I upgraded to a detroit truetrac when I had it regeared. The factory lsd's have an issue where they can cause the whole rear end to be destroyed so I'd stay away from them.

Well this is the weird thing, before i had my truck my grandpa was the one who bought it. And my dad says that he custom ordered a posi rear end. I think that it is posi because both tires always go, just want to see what you guys think?

If that's the case then you just have to keep an eye on it. Check for any large pieces of metal when you change the fluid and if you hear anything funny from the rear end take it to a mechanic. If you check your glove box there should be a sticker which has the axle ratio and will say anti-slip rear if you have an lsd. You can also get a build sheet from you local dealer or dodge.com.

Derrick has an aftermarket one that was put in when he regeared his truck I think.
