Default transmission problem i think?

hi guys had something weird happen to me yesterday i just had filled up my truck at the gas station. the station is right of the highway so when i was leaving there was a lot of traffic so i had to kinda gun it to get out and up to speed when i did so the tranny did something weird it would not shift out of 1st unless i completely let off the gas! thought this was kinda weird so i tried it again on a back road and it did the same thing it just causes the motor to bounce of rev limit till i let off and it switches gears... never floored it like that before so i have never noticed it in the past is this something to do with the tq management or could there be something wrong its a 03 with the 5.9 magnum thanks guys for taking the time to read this long post any help would be great thanks!

I had a buick that did that until the tranny warmed up, It was a clogged filter. I wouldnt take the chance go get it checked out by a tech.

That's just funny right there

I think it's a common problem on the older 45RFE transmissions.

does your truck have the 45RFE or the 48RE? i know my durango with the 5.9 had the 48RE, and bands needing to be adjusted were a common culprit to symptoms like that
