to do the handles its not a big job. i did it in one day. had all the handles of in about a hour and did all the prep and they turned out great. in all i spent about 50 bucks on materials and people were gonna charge me 200-500 to paint them....

My pricing was based on the idea he only wanted to ADD a second color to the bottom, not repaint the whole truck. HUGE difference in cost.

Yeah. And you don't charge what it cost you. If $50 was spent in materials, then I would have to say it wasn't products that a shop will use. Just the primer is $50 for a quart set-up. Then the paint for $25 a pint (automotive urethane) and if you already have urethane clear that runs $200 for a gallon set-up. You won't use that much clear, so you could say $40 for clear. How long did it take to paint them? Gotta charge labor. $200 is good if you can't do it yourself..

I know. You had asked about cost before. It won't last and the clear will go bad after a while. You get what you pay for.

Right. $200 and it won't go bad and will never have the customer bringing it back to be redone. It looks good though. Don't get me wrong. I'm not ******* you. I do this for a living, so I know cost and longevity. It's not rediculous. Just as rediculous as buying a $400 intake that "you could make for $50".

Default 2 tone paint

just read about going to a 2 tone paint. What about going back to the single color? Any Idea on what a body shop would charge? If I do it myself would a lite sanding do, then base, and clear coat
