With chip and injectors your gonna be left in a cloud of black soot. That 7.3 is no dog even though it is a Ford, I would save myself the embarrassment if I were you.

My guess is 1) He didn't even know you were racing 2) He missed a shift 3) He killed it off the line or 4) He forgot to let off the clutch. lol

i would race him if you only race stuff you know you can win there's no point in racing if you do lose just make your truck fast and race again ... more then likely you will lose any chiped diesel is a tough race to win but good luck and have fun

It would be a good fight. Remember in 97 you could make okay power but nothing crazy out of those older diesels. Its not like today where chip = 300 more hp. Give him a race either way you win or he wins it should be close IMO.

You ever rode in or seen a chipped 7.3 with injectors? May be old but can definitely hold it's own trust me, I have rode in Hemi's and modded 7.3's and there is no way.

I know the torque is there to give the diesel an advantage. What year where these trucks you rode in. By no means I am bashing the old fords as a matter of fact I am looking for a 97 with the diesel sorta as a project for some weird reason but I dunno they could really wax a Hemi depends on a lot of variables really.
