Took me some time but there are some who claim they can do it in about an hour. The last two on the drivers side are the toughest.

Do you need a universal for the socket?

I use a socket with a short extension. I break it loose with the ratchet and then use my fingers to finish it. It just clears.

I use performance plugs and go 100k, unless it feels like it needs it sooner, but that's never the case.

Good luck and don't forget the plug seize proof goop and boot silicone...A must!!

Not sure. The plug goop is made for the heat and dissimilar metals, Steel and Aluminum... Best to get the right stuff!

I removed the front tires, and wheel well liners. Made it so much easier to sit on a stool, and get at them from inside the wheel well. Not a problem at all. and rotated my tires while I was at it.

I will let you know how much of a pain it is if I ever get time to get it done. I've got the plugs, a universal attachment, a plug socket, and a 3" and 6" extension if needed. But since there are such mixed estimates on the time involved, I want to wait until I can set aside 4 hours or more to get it done.

I haven't seen it mentioned but I think you need a torque wrench too to do it right. I have that as well. And some anti-sieze. Haven't heard about the plug-goop. Will have to check that out. Will dialectric grease not get the job done?
