It's covered as long as you have an existing warranty and have done proper maintenance intervals.

i purchased my 2007 ram 1500 quad 4x4 used from a dealer and the invoice says balance of factory certified 6yr 80k mile powertrain warranty. i dont know where to look into what is covered. i searched on this site and google. i guess i should be ready to fight with them in the morning.

Yes. It's part of the powertrain and would be covered if your under the 80kmi mark.
