Yesterday on my '05 Ram 1500 my check engine light came on. Then while I had it parked and running I could hear a clicking sound, I crawled underneath the pickup and the clicking was coming from where the transmission and the engine meet. When I rev the engine the clicking stops. And now it won't shift into overdrive.

I plan on taking into the shop ASAP, but does anyone have an idea what this could be??

 

knowing the code that generated the CEL would help. Since you are taking it to the shop, I guess you will know what the code is without having to pull it...

 

Front pump maybe? But thats far from an educated guess without the CEL codes.
