haha well i didnt get the cruise control plastic off, but i did paint the radio bezel and the driver and passenger window control bezels blue, shines just as good as my paint on the outside. i basically followed silver's DIY but i did ALOT more sanding on the radio bezel, with different grits as well.

i wanted mine with a smooth look, thats why i did more sanding. i have a crappy cell phone pic, i will try to get better pics later and upload them when i have time.

update on this whole thing...it can be done but you have to disassemble the whole front section of the steering wheel, including the air bag. would love to do it but do NOT want to mess with anything to do with the airbag...i would rather buy those 45 dollar little covers than pay 500+ to repair the bag.
