You wont believe what happened to me today!
A few years back a friend had his 4x4 serviced at a Jiffy Lube which included changing trans/xfer oil. They didn't tighten the drain plug on the transfer case and of course it came out. He was on his way from Philly to Norfolk. Totally cooked the transmition and xfer case. Total cost, insurance totaled the ride. Costs my friend lots of time and probabily some money to get a replacement. Instead of dealing with the lube joint (pun intended) he went to his insurance company. Which I think was the best for him.
That's why I never, ever go on road trip right after an oil change or any other work. I let it go 'til I get back or do it a week before. Anything can happen and it's better if it happens close to home. Hope it all works out for ya.
i'd take it to a mechanic you trust and make sure all the engine seals are ok, it could be awhile be for you see any effects, get some thing in writing so if something goes wrong you can prove it
See where gettin in a hurry got ya? Spent more time on the side of the road than you wouldve under the truck, Lol.....
Not dare knocking ya bro, I do some dumb **** just because Im in a 'hurry', real dumb, lol (not calling this dumb, just saying

i wouldnt expect much, but if you do get something they're a decent company. now a days the most companies will do is fix what they screwed up, so a cap and fluid. even though they should throw in plenty more for your time and them screwing up to begin with
First off azskater87, I'd not take it back there for anything!
Say to them that you think that's a "reasonable" decision, especially when they have made such a basic error in theire services and you now lack confidance in their abilities.
If you do settle for anything, make sure it's for either money, or products like a free case of oil you can physically take away and do the job yourself.
If you really want to screw them however.......is your truck a Hemi? and does it have the "Hemi tick"?
Cos' it wasn't there before the engine overheated into the red was it??????
I know that's a bit tough but, they were stupid enough to do this in the first place and then even worse to suggest you drive it right back to them without coolant???
That right there means in my book, they should get a costly reminder to tighten up on their chit!!
