After thinking about it I don't think you'll be able to do it by modding the switch. The switch only requests the change from the lighting computer. The latching on/off of the high beams is done by the computer, changing states each time it receives the command from the switch.
Changing the resistor would just tell the computer to flash the highs every time you meant to switch to high beam. Obviously this wouldn't get you any closer to your goal and it'd keep you from using high beams.

No, from the little bit that I have kept up with on the thread, if you changed that resistor to the same resistor that is set when you have the lever pulled back then it should actually cause the lights to stay on because it will be tricking the computer into thinking that the lever is pulled back, the problem you could come across with this would be that you might not be able to switch out of that combo because once you pull it back and set it it will not recognize when you wish to switch back.
