the keys with the chips are the gray ones that are thicker. they seem to be hit and miss on the 04-06 but more popular from 07 up. btw i work at a hardware store and cut keys every day. like someone else said i think the insurance company is just giving you a hard time to save money.
Doesn't really matter, thief that knows what they are doing can bypass the sentry key easily. I'v done it for a few people and beleive me, It isn't hard to do.
kinda why we traded our 03 ram in on the 06 cause we heard the 03 and 04 rams were extremely easy to steal and living in texas within 100 miles of the border makes us a little nervous lol.
You traded in an '03 for an '06 based on the '06 having a better security system? You do know for a couple hundred bucks you can get better aftermarket security systems for your truck, right?
