CAI = power, but can't stand the noise

First off 3 ACKAC D you are a total jack A$$ with a coment like that. If you heard a noise, let me explain the noise better. It is more like a pinging or rattling sound under acceleration. Wouldn't you have it looked into? Something to be concerned about. But you probably are too stupid to click the link and read about the problems others have had.
The dealer did not tell me it voided my warranty he said the noise only happens with the CAI on so there is nothing he can do about it. It is not caused my a DODGE part. I guess I am the only one who this has happened to so anyone want to buy a CAI that I no longer have a use for?

A dealer can not void a warranty due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that it did in fact cause or contribute to the damage. http://www.granatellimotorsports.com/magnusonmoss.htm lists the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act if you are interested in reading it.
If the issue is one of different "muffling" (of the stock intake system vs aftermarket) one might consider removing both/either system and starting and running the truck for a short time for diagnostic purposes. Compare the sound all combos of parts: stock, aftermarket, nothing. This might help one determine if the noise is mechanical/detonation/significant or simply a harmless artifact of less than stock silencing.
All the best.

You are probably getting the noise with the stock components on, however it is barely noticable because of the muffle damping design of the filter housing and the engine shroud.
This has been discussed in length on another Dodge truck forum. One guy seemed to have an exhaust valve problem, they fixed it and he still get a slight tick with the CAI but it is quite a bit more pronounced than his fathers without CAI.
No the warranty is not voided with a CAI just the air intake warranty. i.e. Dodge did not install it and MOPAR did not sell it so no warranty on it. The one MOPAR sells does come with a warranty.
