Default New Member 35" Tire Question

Hello all,

I currently live in Arkansas and have an 08 Ram Sport 1500 4x4 with a 2.5" leveling kit and 1.5" blocks in the rear. I know that in order to get a 35x12.5x20 tire on with just the leveling kit I need about a 4.5" backspacing on any wheel I get. I found a set for a good price but the backspacing is 5.5". Will this work too, or do I need to get a 1" spacer? And if so, is it a good idea to use spacers or would I be better of waiting until I find the wheels with 4.5" backspacing. Also, if the 5.5 will work with a spacer how much of a spacer, 1"? And how much do hub centric spacers cost? Not really sure what do do, any advise would be appreciated.

Welcome to the site, always love having new members joining. you should take a look at the DF Club section on the main page. they have tons of stuff there too.

keep youre eye on this thread, the original poster looks to have the same question and by the end of the day it will get answered. also, the search function in the top right corner of the forum is pretty helpful too.

I will post some pics as soon as I get it cleaned up, we have had some rough weather. Its not the cool muddy dirty either, so it just makes it look like crap. Do you think I would be better off just getting wheels with a 4.5" backspacing?

well yea, it would be better especially if your doing any hard offroading or towing, but if its mainly a pavement queen the spacers will be fine. You can actually get 2in spacers lol

Thanks for the input, not sure if this deal will go through but if you know of anyone with some 20x9 or 20x10 wheels with a 4.5" backspacing let me know.

Im out in Benton. Im looking for 20x10 wheels but am considering 20x9 with 35x12.5x20 (possibly terra grappler). Do you have any clearance issues or rubbing when your in the dirt?

havent rubbed yet, not sure why, alot of people are saying they rub but havent had any issues. been in alotta slop but i doubt the articulation is where it was when i had the 265s on it. I did the ORv park in hot springs and trail ridin/rock crawlin isnt my thing. been close to being stuck, but thatll all change wed when i get my gears and dtt installed. this 2wd 4wd crap is for the birds.
