Questions on 3" lift kit for 2wd Dodge Ram

Yeah, I put the coils in myself. It wasn't that bad. You just have to make sure you put the coil back in the lower bucket correctly. Also, you will have to reinstall the coil isolator on the top of the coil. It's pretty straight forward. Take off the brakes, upper ball joint and tie rod end. Once you get the LCA down far enough the coil comes right out. Then reverse it.

Not from what hammer told me when I was looking to put the 6" rc kit on. If I remember correctly he instructed me that none of the rims have 4.5" backspacing.

No, I didn't use a spring compressor. I had the truck up on jack stands and put the jack under the lca and dropped it slowly.
You should be able to run the factory rim on the 3" rc spring setup as long as you're not trying to run a tire too wide. I have a tire that's around 11.5" wide and barely clears the uca. The reason rc tells you to have a rim with at least 4.5" backspacing on the kit is because they're telling you to run a 12.5" wide tire. If you go with a thinner tire you should have no problems, or you could buy spacers if you really wanted the 12.5" width.
