with a level and proper backspacing you should be able to run 35x12.50 like everyone else. there will be some rubbing with that big a tire unless you do a lift of some sort! you can clear 33x12.50 without any significant rubbing with a level and proper backspacing on your rims!

Thanks for the info. 33s will be fine. I do a bit of off roading and dont need a 35 crashing into my truck while hitting bumps and turns.

Any idea how wide of a tire you can put on the stock 17s? Lastly, what is the proper backspacing. I am not familiar with this at all.

Thanks
Sam

Im pretty sure the only reason why the trx4 model sits any higher than any other stock dodge with the 17's is just because the bigger tire, basically its set up with the same size tire that the 3/4 ton comes with stock while the 1/2 ton with the 17's comes with 245/70/17s I think... could be wrong though. so the size difference is a very tiny difference in tire size.

you can go as big as 295x70x17 without changing anything. Which equals 33.19x12.13.
If you go wider you will need wheel spacers to clear UCA

I received my leveling kit in the mail yesterday but my outer tie rod ends will not be here until monday (drivers side is blown so while I have the suspension apart I plan to knock out both projects at once).

I plan to eventually go with 33s but Id like to keep the stock wheel. I dont think you can safely do a 12" wide tire in there. Does anyone know if the stock wheel is 7 or 8 wide? I was thinking of a 33x10.5 tire. I believe the KM2s goes in this size.

your stock tire size is almost 11".

265x70x17 is a 31.57x10.79
285x70x17 is a 32.76x11.46
295x70x17 is a 33.19x12.13

all these will fit on your stock 17" wheel with no rubbing. these numbers came straight from Nitto's web site under size and specs for the Terra grapplers. there are several members running the 295's without issue!!

Thanks. I really appreciate the info. I'll have to check those out in 295x70x17 is a 295x70x17.

Too bad the KM2s don't come in that size. I'm not worried about the 33", just the 12 inches rubbing on full lock or flex. Rubbing on full lock can sometimes be prevented with wheel spacers though, right? I guess that depends on where it rubs though.
