Default CAI Gains Update

Ok I just finished my first full tank of gas off in ole blackie since the CAI install. I didn't notice any extra throttle response or power. I did notice the noise from the CAI....though I've learned to deal with it now.

But the one positive I did notice was I gained a solid mpg. Now I can't really say that for a fact since I have only ran one tank through it since the install, but I did drive it a bit harder than normal just to prove I wasn't trying to milk it. The computer said I was getting 15.6 mpg and thats what I came up with off the odometer too.

I did run a fuel system cleaner through this tank too so that may have contributed as well. Dissappointed in the HP claims though....I can't tell a thing.

There is NO WAY anybody is going to be able to "tell" the HP or TQ gains from simply installing a CAI. Despite claims, even the best CAI's yield about five to eight RWHP and ain't NO butt dyno that well calibrated!

The 1 MPG is plausable, but the real advantages of a CAI is that it allows other mods to perform better...

Noisy *** Chrome Intakes from Ebay. I recommend getting a plastic one. Mine is annoying with all the noise.

K&N drop-in filter with an Airaid MIT pipe has the same gains without the noise.
