Cleaning the TB in an 05 4.7 Help Please
So since everyones been cleaning their TB's I thought chit, I might as well too it sounds super easy! So I popped my hood, undid my CAI, and hit trouble immediately. How in the hell do you get the sensors in the right side of that biotch off? Theres a round black tube at the top, and two senors below it. I pulled and pulled and pulled that black tube and it wouldn't budge. The sensors don't have a release that I can find anywhere! So then I decided to just clean it in the engine bay as best as I could. I removed the first linkage on the left side and then tried to figure out how to get the inside linkage off. I twisted, pulled, looked for a release.....NOTHING! I'm an idiot when it comes to mechanics I guess cause this simple project is quickly becoming a pain in the ***. Help please! Oh btw I didn't have 4 bolts, I only had 3. Two on top, and one on the bottom in the center.
At the risk of sounding retarded, what the hell is a "tb". I guess you put in an after market air cleaner kit ie; a friggin cai.btw cai helps turbo boost on diesels, not gas motors. Gas motors really don't care what temp the air is as long as its' mixed right and/or injected properly. Now before everyone blows a head gasket here let me add that the stock aircleaner is a bit restrictive and/but does get its' air from the front corner making it cool but not as cool as a proper cai will. that said a cai can increase hp and fuel economy.,
There is a pretty detailed how to on removing the throttle body over at DT: http://www.dodge talk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=268874. Just remove the space between dodge and talk.
Now, I didn't go to the trouble of taking everything apart like he did in that how to, but it will give you a good idea how it's done. The hardest part for me was getting the vacuum hose off. Took some twisting a tugging to get it loose.

actually you are wrong the intakes on our trucks are very resrictive and the cai allows for better flow of air thus when more air in added with exhaust releases more air adds to the power of the truck should really google the affects ....and to the op...that inside linkage pops off towards the front of the truck...and the sensors do have locks on them....
The locks are on the bottom sides of the sensors, can't see them.. But feel around. And the hose is connected by a chinese finer trap looking thing. The rubber stays on the intake, and pull the other side.. As for the cruise control cable, it will pivot in spot, and there is indents so it can pop off. Spin it around so its facing up, ull see what I mean. Hope it helps

I couldnt get the damn tube off either, pulled and pulled and pulled. Gave up on the linkage too, didn't get Jays advice till after it was done, lol, and still not real damn sure on how to get it off. One sensor had a white 'lock'; I just pulled it with a screwdriver while sliding it off (this was the black sensor I believe). The white one was just the "press and pull" type, for me. It was a PITA, but I got it pretty damn clean while the other stuff was attached. I could flip it around and get to the backside (so many inuindos in here, haha). I just soaked the rag I was using pretty good with the cleaner. Dont get the electronics with the cleaner, so don't spray the cleaner directly on the tb, unless you're using the straw.
If ya need some pics, Ill be glad to pop a few on here, apparently Im the resident pic-***** now

Yup I figured it all out. Ya gotta twist and pull that tube alot. I figured it would surely break. The middle sensor has a release on the bottom. It is hidden well, but just feel for and you will find it. It comes right off once ya press it. The bottom sensor has the red key. Just slide it down and pull/wiggle and the sensor will come off. The cruise control is simply too once ya figure it out. Just spin the little black piece and lift and it will come off. Theres a small slot on it....look and you'll see what I mean.
As for the cleaning part, mine wasn't that bad at all. I touched it up and stuck it back on. Once I got it all figured out it took a whopping 15 minutes. Thanks for the link to *********.
