Electrical Issue - Multiple problems
Ok, so I've been having several problems with my truck for some time and I'm pretty sure it's all related to electrical.
1. Windshield wipers.
A) Every once in a while I will unlock my truck using the fob. The chirp goes off, the parking lamps blink and the wipers do one full revolution.
I used to think that maybe I had left them on. It's only one revolution and happens about once a month. Wipers are turned off.
B) Approximately every 3rd or 4th time I use the (intermitent) wipers, they won't work until I turn them on to the continuous setting and let them go one full revolution before I can turn it off. If I turn it off before it completes it's full revolution, it stops where ever I turn it off. This is very annoying.
C) Driving down the road and a beautiful sunny day, the wipers suddenly do one full revolution. I'm not sure if it's a bump in the road or my wipers are just waving at me.
D) Intermitent, frenzied wipers. On intermittent setting, they will wipe 3 times in a row, then 2, then 4, 1, 1, 7, 3, etc.
2. Doors.
By default, my doors lock at 15/k. I like this feature for security purposes.
Problem is, at 15/k they lock, a few seconds later they unlock, followed by locking again.
It's not a certain speed or time interval that sets it off.
3. Heating/Blend door/Vents.
I can get two of the vents to work, windshield defrost and the vents that shoot straight towards you.
Fast forward a few months. After reading this site on the Blend door and other possible issues I took my truck in, mostly because my muffler fell off and didn't like the new sound.
I asked them to look at the heating issue. Long story short (HA! Too late) I get the truck back, all my problems are solved and he didn't charge me a dime for the Windshield wiper/heater issue. Told me the battery connection was loose.
For the next three or four months everything is working great. Windshield wipers work when I want them to and heat/cold works where I want it to. I love my truck again .... then it happens.
The vent and windshield problems are back. The door problem has not returned ... yet.
I've checked the battery terminals, both are solid but I loosen, cleaned and retightened them anyways.
To the best of my abilities, I've checked fuses and searched for frayed cabling, etc.
I contacted the repair shop and asked him to verify what they had done. He quoted back word for word what they did, loose battery connection/terminal.
I can't take it back due to being burned by a credit card scam which is too bad because the owner was really good to me.
Any ideas on where to look/go next?
Should I just shoot her? I don't wanna shoot her, I like her.
Thanks, Any help, suggestions are as always, greatly appreciated.
Ken

My first thought that came to mind before i even read through your post was battery. I would replace the battery especially if it's been in there for a while and see if that doesn't solve your problems. Installing a new battery is called preventative maintenance. Most guys wait till they are in a parking lot and can't start their cehicles before replacing a battery??? It's not like they don't know they have a 7yr old battery, but are either lazy or cheap. A battery can run for a few months on a last limb without much issue's detected.
Wow, just posted this yesterday and it's already on page five. You guys move quick around here!
So even though it starts ok, even on cold mornings it might be the battery?
I'm the second owner so I'm not sure if the battery is original.
Thanks for the reply DD.

they probably had the battery terminal taken off and reset the computer. Have the battery checked out to see if it's holding a full charge like Dirty said I would lean towards the battery too.
Wow
, sounds like you need a priest to do an exorcism, thats some twilight zone ****e....LOL, also look for loose ground cables or where the battery cable ends, might help!!

if it doesn't turn out to be the batt, maybe your PCM is on the fritz? that could be causing any number of whacky things to happen

MoparRat, don't even get me started on the voices coming from the vents but it would explain that sulphur-like smell.
OlDirtyJohn, PCM (printer control module?
) ) sorry, I'm an IT guy.
No idea what that is but it sounds expensive.
Off to do research... and setup an exorcism.
Thanks all.

Powertrain Control Module... gotcha.
