*Project* replacing my front, center seat
#11
Hey, are you going to be able to keep the top part of the factory seat? I have thought about making something that has a single downward facing 10 inch under there. But since it will only be one sub making the box smaller so that I can keep the factory arm rest to keep some sort of factory look to it. You know?

Helluva an idea OE, bout the built in cupholders. Thats what I was talking about in my last post, making the box a little shorter so I could utilize the factory armrest. IF I were ever to get around to doing something like this, maybe make the box come up to the factory cup holders, just cause it'd take some heavy ingenuity to fab up some holders on the top of the box without compromising the seal of the box. Maybe. Like I said, that'd be great for a single 12" sub, then I could just run a monoblock amp to it, and keep the other 10's with the same amp (or a bigger one, as mine is technically a 600w, with a 1000w of doodoo power on tap). Lol, I can't even afford the materials for the center box, or a bigger under-the-backseat box, much less another sub/amp/bigger amp This damn place will get those wheels turning though, make me spend money before it lands in my hand.

FYI - There is a person making replacements for the center seat while keeping the back/arm rest.

I would like to keep the console portion, so this is ideal for me. I don't have one, so I can't comment on the quality, etc.

That's basically what I thought. It's the route I plan on going if I ever find the cash to dedicate to a stereo upgrade project. I actually have an amp and Alpine Type-S components sitting in a box out of our Durango.... however, I haven't spent the money on a new HU, and I don't think the amp has line level inputs.
