I'm 32 and I just ASSUMED that it was normally older guys that drove Ram's. I think it's pretty cool you can get on here and have such different points of view from a wide range of age groups. It seems everyone on here has a little something to bring to the table.

I've not had one bit of trouble out of my truck. They are reliable as long as you take care of them.

My truck has been quite trouble free so far. I bought it new and have 41,000 miles on it now. The only thing that has broke so far is the interior grab handle on the drivers side. And that happened just befroe the 36,000 mile warranty was up. The only other thing replaced was the lousy original tires. And I didn't do that untill after 40,000 miles. I sure hope that this truck doesn't become a problem.

My family has pretty much always been mopar powered. My dad had a chevy or two when I was little, but the last one was a true lemon (it was a mid-seventies model) and he bought Dodge's ever since. He had a full size dodge, a Ramcharger, then a dakota that he drove for 13 years. Now he has another dakota (2008).

I had a 1982 D50 that I blew up the engine in. I had gotten it used and blew an oil seal once before. That was in high school. I drove an isuzu and a toyota (for 11 years...dependable as hell) after that. Then I bought my ram new in 2005. It's got 60k miles on it and the only problems I've had were the stock cd player stopped working and the water pump went out about 8 months ago. It's been a great truck so far and I plan to drive it until it costs more for me to fix it each year than I would spend on a new one.

Oh...and for the record I'm 37.

I guess I am one of the old farts on here at 48. I have kids from 18-24 years old. My Ram is a 2004. Bought it with 35,000 miles and just turned 100,000 a few weeks ago. I think it will go another 100,000 easily. I've only replaced the alternator, battery, and brakes except for normal maintenance things. I did the shocks also but just because the OEM's suck. Runs better than it did when I bought it. Take care of it and it should be fine for many years to come.

Hammer,
You're a young whipper snapper to me, we share the same birthday, but 10 years apart!

Bought mine new, has 124K+ now, *******ly no problems. Still has the original brake pads and rotors yet (no warpage either).

As my wife, who is older than me, has said-----I/we get to retire soon!!!!
Yep, finally starting to see a glint of light at the end of the tunnel!!

thanks all who replied too what I thought was gonna be a lame thread. However it brought out a mis conception that dodge trucks are nondependale. nothing further fom the truth. as with everything you take care of it it will take care of you. me and my cream puff are gonna mistreat each other tomarrow shocks and cat back for the n/runner and skinned knuckles for me, please i skin'em most times when I wipe my a$$. lol be good and thanke again everyone.
