Not always, I use mine quite a bit. Work well with a 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer. That and pulling hay wagons back on the farm, not that I do much of that anymore being in NJ.

there very nice to have a LARGE mirror to see stuff when your in a BIG truck...it sucks having a big truck with dinky mirrors...you cant see crap, my toyota has like 4x4 mirrors...wtf were they thinking..

I still pull trailers so I still use them. Just not Hay wagons. I guess you could say noone "needs" tow mirrors, they just make towing alot nicer, wich is why I "want" them. That and when my enlistment's done I'll be going back to NY and probably working on the farm once and a while again.
