Default drag radials for traction!!

So today i ran my truck for the first time at little river academy dragway.....i ran a good time considering what im driving BUT i had no traction at all in 1st gear. MY street tires suck, they are aurora rh08's 275/55/20. Ive tried looking online for radials/slicks, for my truck but i just cant find anything. If anyone knows where i can get tires AND rims i would appreciate the info. OH ill list my times.....remember i have a 4.7 auto

Have you checked tire rack, discount tire, etc?

Those arent too bada times really, not for the 4-7. Those gears definately hurt your traction, but helped your times too. If you could get that 60' down to the 2.0ish range, you'd really be doing alright. Your 1/8 mile is exactly .5sec faster than my hemi 'Rango. Being a s/c is definately helping....

Check around those sites, see what you can't come up with. Ya have any idea what size you're going after?

Gonna have to be a 17 I believe, 16's wont clear the brakes. Id say a nitto 555 would be good for ya. You dont have enough power to need any ET Streets or M&H's or anything. The Nittos are a good all around street/track tire. Just try and stay out the rain with'em.....

Rick, off topic if you don't mind, how tall are your tires and what rpm are you running at 65 mph?

That sounds perfect to me. I'm running 30.5 tall tires and haven't decided between 4:10 or 4:56's yet.
What rpm are you running through the 1/4 traps? This will help determine if you want a taller or shorter tire than your street tire. If you want a little more rpm use a shorter tire. This is what I did years ago when playing at the strip.
Thanks,

Id say im right at 4200@85 in 3rd gear...it shifts to 4th at 105. My 3rd gear is HORRIBLY weak! dont all rams have that problem? shorter tires would definately help for it.
