Default Performance parts other than exhaust and intake?

Hey guys,
so i wanna cam my truck. I wanna get an SCT tuner. Ive heard thats the best tuner. I have the 4.7L V8. Im wondering if you guys can help me find out the measurments for the cam. Or the size or whatever. Sorry i dont really know what im looking for when shopping for cams. Also, what else can i do besides exhaust and intake that would increase my HP and Torque? And if i do cam my truck, should i look for a specific type of exhaust system? or intake system? thanks guys!
Dan

What are you using the truck for? Asking what cam is the best is like asking what tire is the best. It all depends on what you're going to be doing. I'd recommend investing your money in new gears before you start taking the engine apart.

i'd say 4:10's or 4:56's for gears. Other mods you could do is an underdrive pulley, upgrade the fans, and start loosing weight on the truck. Dont forget about suspension either. Im new to these trucks so i cant throw out cam specs for ya but to be fast you need A. traction B. power C. and that truck as light as you can get.

check out airram.com . the dude Nick over there is all about the 4.7l performance. and sells all the stuff you need. some things you can do other than intake and exhaust is: gears, torque converter, headers, ported throttle body, electric fan. then if that stuff isnt enough for you, you can start looking into different cams, ported heads, etc.. a cam is going to require some supporting mods to get the best performance possible out of it. so your best bet would be to start tackling all the smaller mods first.

also, check out the "287 Club" in the clubs section of this site. those guys can help you out a ton with 4.7 performance stuff.
