Default cruise control problem

when I am driving, the cruise will set like it should then about 5-10 miles down the road, the cruise will just stop working, I will begin losing speed slowly , and will not be able to get the cruise to work again unless I stop shut truck off and start again. Then will start driving again and will do the same thing. any ideas? thanks

Basket's problem sounds like a servo issue if you have the Hemi or possibly a vacuum issue if the other engines use vacuum. Of course that is going on not know what type of truck or engine you have.

Im sorry to say, Draco's problem sounds like it could possibly be a BCM issue. Have you tried resetting your BCM?

Its a good thing they made only one type of diesel engine and put those in one Model and year, That really narrows it down.

Do a check for codes, your probelem sounds very similar to one I had a few years back. If I am correct it wont show a CEL but will throw a code.

This is going to sound like a dumb and completely unrelated question but how are your brakes?

The truck is a 2004 ram 2500, I will check the codes, and currently the brakes seem to be ok
