Newbie question about lights
So the wife just bought an 04 4x 4.7l quad cab sb for me. I'm currently deployed with the Navy. I'm totally new to mopar madness. I am a Ford boy by trade but my wife's dad has a newer ram and he got me hooked. My question is that i just saw the March trucks of the month and I noticed all the ones that i could see the grille on had aux lights mounted behind the grille. Is there a kit or mounting bracket for this? I realize that you need some type of semi-see through grille. Also where do you put the aux switch and how do you wire it in?
Thanks,
The FNG (effin' new guy)

yeah the ones you see that most guys use are Hella 500's.. You can buy them in walmart (if they sell them in your area). I got mine at autozone. They just bolt right to the cross member in front of the radiator. I also have the same grille as you so it'll look awesome
Oh by the way... Welcome to the forum...You've got a nice truck there

As far as wiring goes, the kit comes with all the wiring and relay, switches you need. All you gotta do is follow the diagram and wire the relay however you want. You can also run higher wattage bulbs for super bright light output but you have to step up on wire thickness to handle the extra load.
props for the longest and most interesting username. If you're still around in a year, you're probably not gonna have the bfg's anymore if you listen to the majority of this forum. everyone swears by anything nitto, and a few other specific models of other companies. BFG tends to be a curse word around these parts lol...
congrats on the truck, looks good, bet you cant wait to get back and drive that beast. ya most people run the hella 500's behind the grill including me, there inexpesive and work great, they werent bright enough for me so i ended up buying 100 watt bulbs and putting them in there, had to up grade the wires as well, but it was a big improvement, but theres a bunch of people that run other brands as well, they will all mount to that bar right in front of the radiator.

Also I forgot to say this, the Hella's in particular when mounted to that crossmember won't aim low enough to do much good. All you have to do is take a dremel and remove some of the unnecessary plastic at the bottom of the light. I can post a pic if you need me to.
