Default Tonneau cover decreasing milage?

Hey guys, I recently bought a truxedo original tonneau cover and the first week I saw some improvment but now it feels like my mileage went down. Did it decrease it instead of increase it or is it just now tight enough? Any feed back is great thanks.

I don't know if the same is true with a cover but I know they proved it on Mythbusters that you actually get better mileage with the tailgate up as opposed to being down. There is a special way that the air flows and circulates in the bed of the truck and when that airflow is lost it creates a drag, I'd assume a cover would have the same effect.

Oh and, yea you changed the aerodynamics of the truck now. Its a crapshoot how that cover is gunna affect you without taking it to a windtunnel.

I saw a slight improvement when I put mine on and it weighs quite a bit.

I'm thinking could it be the tension of the cover? Like if it's loose it causes air to go under it and causing a drag? When I drive I see it wave abit but I'm thinking that's just the soft top for you. Is it supposed to be super tight where it looks like a hard top or what?

Mine went up and mine weighs a ton... what type of driving have you been doing? If you see a lot of highway it should go up city will probably just even out

If it's gettin air underneath it your creating a crapload of drag, it's almost like attaching a giant stick on hood scoop to your hood and the air hitting and gettin caught in the scoop causes drag.
