Question TV Cable update

So I know some of the guys saw my forum about the superchips tuner and my horrible 1 to 2 shift points and how soft my shifts were and when I went to diagnose it I determined that it must be the throttle valve cable from what I had read online.

Well today I went in to look at it, and first I tried resetting the cable like it says to do to make it more tense, when I did, I realized that the cable had absolutely no tension and no pullback at all. So I had my buddy pull on the cable while I was under the truck and I followed it all the way around the transmission and up above and back onto the driver side of the transmission where it ended, but the end of the line was not connected to anything.

So I couldn't find anything that it should connect to when I was searching, so I have either determined that one of the owners prior to me really went deep into customizing the transmission and made the TV cable obsolete because I didn't even know it would shift out of first without it, or there is something seriously wrong with my transmission.

So now I have an appointment tomorrow morning with a transmission specialist to get it checked out and to see if he can figure the damn thing out.

My tranny fluid was changed a couple of weeks after I got the truck, I hadn't really noticed how poor my shift points were yet, I had never owned an automatic before this, only manuals... but after watching videos and suck I realized how poor they were, thats why I know its not my tranny fluid.

It WILL shift without the TV cable. You have a 46RE which is very different (edit: from the 45/545's most on here have). It will also shift very sloppily and burn up your clutches. The cable comes up past the bellhousing, clips into a bracket on the throttle body and then snaps onto the throttle linkage. It is adjustable at the throttle body end.

It is connected on the throttle body end, but not connected at the transmission end because I adjusted it at the throttle body end and thats when I realized adjusting it was doing nothing and the cable was so loose it wouldn't do anything. It will be in the shop in 2 hours so we will find out then.
