Default SBQC, larger gas tank?

1500 Ram, not great range due to small fuel tank, Is there room for the larger tank like the long wheelbase models have?
and,
What concessions need to be made regarding the trip computer if this is the case?

The guy that could best tell you will probably respond in just a few. Weed has done this to his truck I'm pretty sure.

They will tell you the PCM cannot be flashed to accept a larger tank. They likely will not disable the DRLs also because they are required in CN but anything is possible. The float in the tank will still register the correct amount of fuel for your dash needle. The tank is longer, not wider or more tall so the same level of fuel is the same. If you have an OHD that reads DTE, it will not go above what the PCM is set for but as the tank runs down the DTE will still read correctly.

In other words, say on a 26 gal tank you can get 15mpg so you should be able to run about 390 miles to empty, right? Well with a 25 gal tank and the same 15 mpg you would be able to hit 525 but the DTE will still only max out at 390. However, when it reads 10mi to empty, thats what you got so dont push it

So with a retro'ed large tank, the DTE will still read accurately down closer near empty, but won't be relevant when full? (This is ok with me, I like to know what's left when it starts to count - till then, all I want to do it put the miles behind me.)
