Talking Got my work cut out for me tomorrow!!!

Went to Pep Boys today and bought a bunch of stuff to do a bunch of maintenance tomorrow. I'm gonna change and clean my brakes, gonna seafoam the engine, clean the throttle body, change the plugs, clean my intake filter, change the oil, and put in a 180 degree thermostat. oh and the person that helped me at pep boys gave me everything at wholesale and i saved about $100!!!

I (hopefully) have all the tools, cleaners, grease, and parts i need. all ill need is a buddy to take me to get my rotors cut but thats right around the corner. hopefully everything goes smoothly and by this time tomorrow afternoon i have a new truck!

I did the same thing recently too: front and rear diff fluids, 02 sensor, rear brakes, oil change and tire rotation. only thing I did was the oil change though.

Its not really neccessary to get your rotors ground down. If you didnt wear your pads all the way down to the metal then your rotors should still be good. If you dont have any grooves or warping to the rotors its just a waste if money to get them cut. Just makes it so the rotors dont last as long when you cut them. but ya if theres grooves then id go ahead and do it. Just my 2 pennies.

when i was getting my plugs and pads at the parts counter she asked me if i owned a shop, i said no. then she asked if i worked for someone, i said no. then she asked while laughing if i knew anyone or had a friend who had his own shop cause she will give me wholesale prices. i said sure and named my friends shop. im not sure if she was just hooking me up cause i had a bunch of stuff in the cart, or she was wanting.... something.... extra.... lol who knows.

And KUhawkFAN my rotors are fine, but i thought i was better to cut em to have the new surfaces work with each other. hell if it doesnt matter than ill save the money! i also upgraded to ceramic pads so i dont know if that makes a difference or not??

I think it's all personal preference. I always take my rotors to be turned. I just feel like there could be some imperfection that you don't notice or see that will ruin the new pads. If there is an imperfection in the rotor you may not notice it with the old pads because they've worn to the shape of the rotor.
