dodge and ford not a option
Considering a new truck, a HD duty truck, For all the hype of the new 2010 HD Ram, Dodge has gone back wards with not offering a manual transmisson with the hemi and by not offering patriot blue.
THe new Ram cab dosent fit me, thiers buger all for head room with the sun roof, ( I'm 6ft 4 ) and in a non sun roof cab, I really hate how close the sun vissors are, I really have a hard time accpeting that this was MT truck of the year.
I hate the 1500 Ram, thats not a option, I have to have a manual transmisson and GM dose not offer a manul in any of thier trucks, with dodge, a manual is a upgrade with a CTD.
My topper is patrot blue, My new rims oand tires will fit a ne w 2500 Ram, and may bolt up to a duramax.
Right now my 06 is soaking up warenty time, big time, THiers a lot going a stray with my truck, thats the push for a new ride, problem is, thiers nothing in the market to keep me happy.
AS for Ford, never again, I liked the titan when it first came out, so Nissan or GM are my chioces if I have to get a 1500 truck.

It's all about what sells. Although I'm surprised they ditched the Patriot Blue (a very popular color, I thought) the omission of the manual tranny doesn't surprise me. They just don't sell and even though I think it's stupid, my bet is you'll see the manual go bye-bye on the CTDs also.
I got a good buddy with a 2nd Gen CTD and manual tranny that he uses with a goose neck to deliver big rooftop A/C units all over the country. He's over a million miles and I shudder to think how many auto trannies he would have gone thru by now!
I am really surprised that your '06 is giving you trouble, guy in my hunting club has an '05 2500 Hemi with manual tranny and other than normal wear and tear stuff and having to replace ball joints twice now, he's been trouble free for over 100k miles...

Altenator was the latest thing to go, last month the water pump, in december 09 the left front axle shaft, whats ironic is I'm not putting on the mileage I used to, I'm now at 90,000 KM, power train good to 100,00 km, so at the rate I'm going, I will have a new truck at 100,00 km.
With the power seats in 010 Ram, the sun roof is still in the way, a crew cab 2500 hemi with a 6speed manual would be my perfect truck, to pay a extra 9 grand for the ctd just to get my manual transmisson is a slap from dodge to me.
My reg cab was a work truck, now I need a crew cab truck for people, not utility, so in a round abought way, I don't need a 2500 truck, but still want a 2500 truck, but don't need a CTD but want a manual transmisson...
I fought hard with my dodge dealer to factery order my truck back in 06 ....
My biggest gripe with dodge automatics is I hate them, to be fair, I hate all automatics, a 1500 Ram crew with a 6spl would be ideal

I'd really like to see on paper how it doesn't compare to a Dodge half ton when they share the same frames??? A Titan is just as capable of playing with the big boys as an f150 is. If you hate Titans because they're imports that's one thing but to give a member false information based on your personal preference is wrong.
