Default Radio Default Mode Setting

I have a 2008 Ram 1500 Big Horn. I'm not sure which radio model; it has a single cd player, Sirius Satellite radio and an AUX jack on the front panel. Whenever I turn the key on, the mode display reads "P7" which I assume is the satellite radio. We do not subscribe to the satellite radio and don't plan to. I would like to have the radio come on automatically in the "AUX" mode since my GPS is plugged into the AUX jack and I have a lot of MP3 music stored on the GPS.

Does anyone know how to change the default mode? The owner's manual has been no help at all.

Shouldn't the stereo come on the same way it was when it was shut off?? If I'm playing a CD and shut the truck off it's still playing when I start it back up. If AUX is selected when you turn the truck off, shouldn't it be on AUX when you start it back up? Or am I reading your question wrong?

You are partly right. It works that way if the radio is on am/fm radio or cd, but not if it is on AUX. For some reason, if it is on AUX when you shut it off, it comes up "P7" and I have to press the Mode switch once to get it to AUX.

Oh, ok. I just got this truck a week ago and haven't had the chance to test out the AUX plug yet. I have the same radio you described in my truck.

Default Aux default

Press and hold MODE on AUX for 10 seconds or until the time shows. Then pass the set button.
