My idea of a fun project would use a Hemi crate motor.

it is a creat motor, just i want the short block so i can make it how i want it. and i know the throtal body spacers are junk but i got it for free and i did see a mpg increase but no power, plus it sounds kinda cool on the highway

I thought at first (for some crazy reason) I saw that you were doing a 372 hemi and I was like have fun tuning that on a 03.

But you should be fine with a motor that isn't run like these newer motors.

already lookin at doin the stage 3 tranny swap or droppin in one of the 6 speeds out of the str10

That's a lot of money. I watched a car building program on TV where they built a 64 Nova street/drag car for resale and the engine was $29k. Car sold at auction for $50k. Pretty much broke even with the build. If everything is professional built the vehicle can have a good resale value, however it one thing is off or not done properly everything spent on it is wasted.
