So you are saying to use the 6.1 exhaust spring to replace both the 5.7 intake and exhaust springs. And also use the 6.1 exhaust push rod for both intake and exhaust on the 5.7. Is that correct?

Yes 6.1 EXHAUST SPRINGS only, the 6.1 push rods are the cheap way to get the strength he purchased manley pushrods which are more than likly one piece forged anyhow just alot more expensive.

Cool, thanks guys. I got the Manley Pushrods, the Hemi 5.7L 5/16 (6.600 intake and 7.825 exhaust are the lengths) They're much beefier than the stock ones and 1-piece design.

FireFighter, would you mind posting a couple of pics just for everyone's FYI of the 5.7,6.1 int pushrods w/a bic pen and 5.7, 6.1 ext pushrods w/a bic pen. so we all can get a gander of the rods sizes to pen size?

RedTruck-VA, Thats correct, when moving/changing the engine designed specs on one component, something else within that train may require upgrading and as this happens to be the OEM rods may collapse under stressful power burst.

Having an 03 which I spin up on occassion I am going to change out the 03 valve springs with 6.1 exhaust springs. If I need stronger push rods I might as well do them at the same time. I don't know the 5.7 valve train geometry so pls bear with me here. Are both the intake and exhaust push rods the same lenght? And I understand that the valve spring height is the same for both intake and exhaust valves on the 5.7. This should be a simple upgrade. Thanks,

oneHemi37: Yep, I sure will do that for you. Definitely a big difference between the stock 5.7's (3-piece design) vs the Manley 5.7's (forged 1-piece) I plan on doing the swap later this week/weekend or early next week...just depends on my work schedule. and...no..I haven't cammed the truck.

Red Truck: I am replacing all the stock 5.7 intake & exhaust springs with 6.1 Exhaust springs per the instruction I have received here on the forum and this thread, due to their strength. No, the int/exh lengths are different per the lengths I posted above. These are the lengths shown on the Manley label, assuming that they are the same as the stock 5.7's. As oneHemi stated, if I were to install the 6.1 rods, I'd be in trouble due to them being longer than the 5.7. The 6.1's are slightly longer, I posted their lengths last page back.

I don't see how you can go wrong with these Manley Hemi 5.7 pushrods for the int & exh if they spec-out to be the same length as your OEM 5.7 int, exh rods.
Double check the ball ends to be the same radii, oil-way holes same size as the OEMs.
I just could not find the OEM 5.7 int, exh rod lenghts, nor the 6.1 lenghts to do any comparing.

oneHEMI: I am so sorry, I forgot all about your request. I took the pic's for you (minus the Bic pen). The old and new rods are lying on a standard shop towel, so you can get an idea of their size. I hope this helps and again, sorry for the delay.
