what would be the best motor oil for the 5.7 hemi? tnks for the help

5w20 all day long if I'm not mistaken.

I use Pennzoil Hi-Mileage on my Ram, regular lizards on my C.

Welcome to DF. Your best bet for everyday questions is to vistit the 3rd gen FAQ section located HERE i think you'll find that area handy.

With that said, i use Synthetic on my Ram since new but for an already used over 80kmi vehicle, conventional oil is what I'd choose. Just keep up on the oil change mainenance intervals and you will be just fine. The oil filter chosen is more important than the brand of oil to choose.
Choosing one oil from the next these days is like trying to tatse test different brands of spring water and deciding which you like better...lol I would use any brand synthetic in my truck. The fact it's synthetic is good enough for me. Same with conventional oil. They all have to pass certain req'd guidlines and are essentially created equal. This is where I stress the fact quality oil filters are most vital and the lack of maintenence are most culprits in engine failures.
Maybe i over analyze everything, but it brings perspective to many things.

I think they switched to 5w20 in 05...cant remember. I know my 04 calls for 5w30. How come you run 20 johnny? You have the 4.7?

my 4.7 takes 20. and yep best place to look is under the hood and on the oil cap. FAQ is always a good back-up before you post up. welcome!

My 05 calls for 5w20 and does not have MDS. Didn't start till the following year.
