Default remote starter problems

I have a 2005 ram qc with a hemi that has a prestige remote starter installed in it. It has been installed for about a year and a half and was working fine until yesterday. Now if i go start it it will start up and then shut right off it will try three times and then will stop. If i go to start it with the key it starts right up. I eventried to sit in the truck and give it gas while it tries to start but it still dies. Anyone with any advice is helpful thanks

What color key do you have? If it is grey, then you have a bypass module that could have lost programming or gone bad. It will still start the truck, but the keysense kills it after 5 seconds. Just installed a Viper on mine, and the bypass is what allows the truck to start without the key in the ignition. Hope that helps!!

x3 on this problem. mine starts and runs for 7 seconds then shuts off. cant start it anymore with remote until you start with the key first. I jjust installed new headlight bulbs but cant see this bein the problem. Goin to the shop monday for o2 sensor so ill see if we can get it figured out.

could be a bad hood pin if you have one installed. could be anything tripping it and making it shut off as a security feature or breach.

did you have it installe by a local shop? If som take it back. You should have a lifetime warranty on the install?? Does your black key have the keyless entry buttons on it? I so, you have a sentry key, and it should have a bypass like mentioned above!

I didn't think they would even try and start if the hoodpin was not working properly???
