2WD/Stock-height (well, 1 inch spacers)
I have a bad ball joint and I will replace both sides.
I want to do the job myself. I have searched the many posts on this topic but haven't found any 3rd Gen owners that have popped out the rivets in the LCA and "bolted in" the new ball joints. This makes me wonder if the joints are just the joint pressed in.

I has seen Dakota posts of DIY ... bolt in.
Looking for 3rd Gen owners that have done this.
Any specs on the bolts? Any long-term problems with looseness?
Anyone have a good source for the proper ball joint ... I did not see it sold for 2WD --- 4WD is press in.
thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. I really didn't want to change the whole control arm but drilling out the rivets wasn't going to be a pleasure either.

I should have asked earlier ...
It looks like there is a cap on the back side of the ball joint ... do you pry that off to access the snap ring?
