Cool Mounting a Bull Bar

I am thinking about adding a bull bar to my '02 Ram 1500 Sport model with the lip spoiler.

The Aries bar # 35-5001 attaches throught the filler panels that need to be removed.

Is there another brand of bull bar that attaches underneath the bumper and lip spoiler without removing the filler panels? Also is there any cutting needed on the spoiler if mounted underneath? thanks, JC

If it's gonna be worth a flip, then it's gonna tie into the tow hook holes. Anything that would just tie in underneath ain't gonna have support to do much more than stay in place, if it's light enough to even do that.

If you don't want to lose the whole piece of plastic use a dremmel or rotozip type tool to just cut out for the mounts...

Cool Update...

Thanks for the info...

I have decided to hold off on the bull bar and decided to install driving light behind the grill for starters.

After checking out many photos of Dodge Rams on this site, it looks like a good mod and has a great look.

Any tips on best bang for the buck on lights to buy?
6" or bigger?
Offroad or driving lights, recommendations?
Is there any bolt on kit for behind the grill lights or do I need to weld brackets?

I just added Westin Nerf bars last night. Fairly easy install. I have a regular cab black sport 4x4 so I went with black powder coat. They are short looking and blend in nice. Now I have to remember to use them. I keep jumping in!

i know you said you were holding off but i just installed my and feel like showing off. heres my bull bar (truckgeardirect stainless super bull bar). Installation was pretty easy, they use brackets that bolt into the back side of you bumper. Had to dremel out a little bit of the plastic valance/chin spoiler but its not a big deal. Oh BTW, the have mount for off road lights

Hellas are usually the light kit of choice. Probably about the best bang for the buck. There are higher end kits out there and HIDs as well. But the Hellas are good quality and have EVERYTHING you need in the box at a street price of around $65 a set. Tough to beat it.

You can simply drill holes where you want them and use the included nut and lock washer. Personally, if I was gonna put them behind the grill, I'd drill the hole and weld a nut in place on top of the rail, but you don't have to by any means...
