Angry 2008 Ram Headers

So what is the big deal with no one making an affordable set of headers for my 2008 Ram 2500 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi? Will headers listed for other years fit my pickup, like a 2500 from 2006 or 2007? Or maybe even shorties for a 1500 4x4 because there are lots of options out there for half tons? Does anyone out there make a flange and kit for my heads so I could build my own custom long tubes?

Looks to me like there is a lot more room on my 2500 than on my old 2004 1500. Even with just shorty headers, it was the best upgrade I ever did on that pickup and only about $400 for ceramic coated ones.

good luck finding a set for a 2500. you will find shorties, but they are expensive as hell.

The prob with the 2500's vs the 1500's are the mounts and where the engine is located. The primary tubes are bent around certain things to allow fitment. i wouldn't buy anything unless it is specifically stated for your year and model. Chrysler made a number of changes even from year to year.
FYI..I bought a set of JBAs that were made for 2wd 1500's. i tried putting them on my 4wd and the passenger header hit the engine mount and wouldn't line up, luckily I was able to get the newer style that fit both 2wd's and 4wds replaced free of charge.

I haven't shopped around for 2500 headers, but your biggest gain would be with Longtube headers, but you must check with your local laws regarding LT's as they may be illegal like in Cali.
LT's are far from bolt in though. they require a more intense install and a different Y-pipe.

The only option I could find under $500 is from BBK. Ceramic shortys for about $400, part number 40090.

I am seriously starting to think about building my own long or mid tubes. I did find a few racing shops on the internet that sell 5.7 hemi flanges for under $100 a set. Anyone out there tried that yet on this motor?

I know it's doable because I was up at KRC talking specs for a custom grind on their 210 cam and while I was there they were fabbing up a set on an '07 Power Wagon that was there...

Thanks. That's one mean looking Dodge you got there Hammer. Does anyone know if Dodge has changed their heads from 2003-2008 on the 5.7 hemi? I might just pick up some cheap painted long tube headers for a 2004 and start from there if the flanges will mount up.

One last thing on my mind is that little EGR tube coming off the headers. Every pic of headers I see has this, even when they say it's for a 2500. My 2500 doesn't have an EGR valve. Does this simply seal off against the head since I don't have one?
