Default Exhaust and other mod questions

Hello,

The first mod I ever got was a Banks Monster exhaust for my 5.7. I've also added a Super Chips tuner set to performance and a Volant CAI. Last year I had my muffler pulled (banks uses straight through mufflers) and it is a 3" cat back straight pipe. I still have orginal y pipe, cats and headers but im very interested in getting some LT headers. My fear is that i would actually lose performace due to lack of back preasure. I would like to do more performance updates but im running out of options since i cant afford a turbo or Super Charger. Does anyone have suggestions or can answer my header question?

Thanks in advance

I can tell you this, I have an 04 5.7 with a CAI and a KRC 210 cam that is custom tuned. On the exhaust side I have LTs in true duals with no cats, x-pipe, two cutouts (closed most of the time now), two round Magnaflow (straight through) mufflers and tips. The gears are 4.56's with 36" tires and I REALLY love my truck and how it pulls hard in all my gears. It will certainly put your back to the seat and has excellent throttle response. I only wish you were closer so you could drive it and see. Im sure you would like it and it would help your decision making.

Unfortunatly, theres not a whole lot of good mechanics up here and pretty much no after market shops in interieror Alaska. So im jealous every time i see some one talk about their tuned system. I think im going to go ahead and get the LT headers. Ive seen some ppl on here that have pace setters, any suggestions on who makes reliable headers and gives the most hp/trq? Any to avoid like plague? I also seen someone talk about Throttle body upgrades. are they really worth the $500?

not sure about brands but i know its good to get powder coated headers or they will look like your stock ones before long. rotted out and ugly.

I'm not sure back pressure is an issue anymore with modern vehicles

So ceramic is the way to go, got it. Thanks Everyone! Looks like Pace setters are what majority of everyone has, is everyone happy with this brand?
