Default New here with a quick question.

I recently bought a 2008 1500 Quad cab 4x4. It had 22" rims on it and they have to go as I drive off road in the winter for snowmobiling hauling sleds into the mountains.

I think I have decided on 17" rims and 295/70 Nitto Terra Grappler tires. Is anyone running this set up? I am curious what backspacing you guys are using as well. I am alos leveling the front with a 2.5" Ready Lift kit. It seemed like a good cost effective way to go to get what i was after.

Any input here?

Thanks. this seems to be a great site as I have been lurking for about a week now. I have found alot of tire/wheel info on 2500's just not 1500's.

That is a very good combo for a level, I actually have my truck leveled and an add a leaf in the rear and have full true 35X12.5's on mine, so 295/70/17s will work perfect. You might even want to go with a 305 instead, because if you dont you will be asking for them later

Everyone on this forum does lol. And the terra grapplers are apparently a great tire, there are many on this forum who would swear by them.

NOW THERE IS SOMEONE WHO KNOWS WTF THEY ARE DOING!!! Get you them damn 22s off your 4x4!

I've got a ton of tire/wheel/fitment info for 1500s in the FAQ section.

Great tire choice IMO, I have a little more aggressive tire on my truck, but my Grand Cherokee 4x4 is my daily driver and I have a set of 265/70/17 Terra Grapplers on it. Couldn't be happier. Very quiet, decent off-road and sticks to wet pavement like velcro.

I don't think I'd go 2.5" in level kit though, the CV joints aren't gonna like it much, 2" is pleny IMO. You really don't wanna be swappin a CV in the field...

Will the 295/70 fit without the leveling kit? I forgot, '06 Mega Cab 1500.

Is 5.7 too much backspace on a 17x9 rim? I really know nothing about this stuff at all. I'm sure this has been asked a million times.
