nitrious on out hemis
If you are only looking for a 50 to 100 shot, I have heard a lot of good things about the ZEX hemi kit. It comes with 50, 75, and 100 hp jets, a NMU and all the stuff you need to get started right away. Then you can add things like the window switch, remote opener, bottle warmer, etc to that kit as you get the cash if you don't have it to purchase it all at once. Supposedly this is a very safe kit for our trucks when you are looking for a smaller shot of gas (100 hp or less).
A purge kit allows the gas in the line to escape, bringing liquid NO2 to the solenoid. Bottle pressure should be from 850 to 1100. A heater is a must to maintain consistant bottle pressure. Use the heater when the ambient temprature is below 90*,they will have a thermostat on the heater so no worries on over heating. A window switch is a great investment, it has the wide open throttle switch built in, as well as being able to set the rpm for activation. Mine is set for 2800 rpm, so i can get out of the hole and not lose traction when it activates. A blow down tube is not necessary if the bottle is mounted outside the passenger compartment. look at the pics in my photo gallery, mine is mounted in the tool box. When mounting the bottle, make sure the pick up tube is mounted at the rear, lowest point. the pick up tube will be in line with the bottle outlet. Dont get carried away with the size of the shot, the stock Hemi has the top ring groove very close to the top of the piston. Use one step cooler plugs, and set your tuner to economy to remove some timing. This will help prevent detonation. When using NO2, let off the gas gradualy, the no2 will shut off when you come off w.o.t. (when using window switch) but keeping some rpm prevents puddleing on the intake floor, which can cause an explosion, so roll out of the throttle gradualy. need anything else? just ask!

When i bought my truck, the chargers had not come out yet. The fastest thing i could get off the showroom floor with A HEMI was a single cab truck, so i built a fast truck. had i been more patient, i would have gotten a Charger.
ok i heard for the hemi at least my truck 3k is good to spray at. I don't know if its true? Also what do you mean by let off the gas. So you SHOULD NOT hit nitrous and have the gas pedal pressed all the way down? i a bit confused on that. Thanks
He's talking about letting off the gas gradually after the "run" to keep the nitrous from sitting in the intake. You run the nitrous full throttle then let off the pedal after that gradually.
You realize Nitrous is going to destroy the tranny in these truck quickly if your not careful, Although thats not necessarily a bad thing. If you wanted a speedy pickup, Why not an SRT10 or a CTD? Either of those, With mild mods, can be quicker than a fully tricked out hemi truck any day of the week. And I wont even start how many cars are out there that are cheaper than a hemi pickup that can easily out race them.
ok, let me try this again, you will need a wide open throttle switch to run Nitrous, a window switch has one built in. These keep the NO2 from activating at anything except wide open throttle. After you finish your run, roll back on the throttle, dont just let all the way off, keep some rpm's up for a few seconds to cear any puddled no2 that might be left on the intake floor.
