Miles per tank - What's your most?
Here's the ground rules:
Most mile driven before fill up.
NO spare can just in case you run out (normal empty tank without white knucling it to the station).
5 catagiries - 26 gallon tank, 34/35 gallon tank, diesel, auxillary tank (again - no gas cans - fully installed tanks only).
Provide this information:
Truck info.
Miles driven.
Gallons added.
Date of fill up.
Price per gallon.
Special circimstances (if any).
Here's mine:
2003 Quad SLT 4x4 and tow package (3.92 dif), 34 gallon tank, home made CAI with K&N filter added.
508 miles
32.07 gallons
5/2/05
2.379 gallons
No special circumstances (a lot of highway miles - in town)

RE: Miles per tank - What's your most?
04 SLT QC Hemi - 3.55s & 17s - 26 gal tank
383.8 miles
22.1 gallons
9/9/04
Don't remember the PPG
This was the first road trip after I got the truck. I don't track it much anymore, but typically get over 300 per tank. I've never seen the low fuel light, so I always have pleanty of fuel remaining when I fill up.

2004 R/C S/B (red - ha ha)
412.5
24.2
2/26/05
$2.47
Drove it 'till after the light came on. Just as light came on I was within 2 exits of a Costco filled it up there. I did not like paying $60.00 to fill 'er up. Haven't gotten it much below half tank since then. (now it would be over $70.00 to fill it up. It is nice that this vehicle can go farther on a tank of gas than the Breeze it replaced!

MAn you want more information than most credit card companies. What's up with that?
Truck info. = see below
Miles driven. = 400
Gallons added. = 18
Date of fill up. = last fall some time
Price per gallon. = too much
Special circimstances (if any). = wife was with me and was telling me not to drive so damn fast.

hmm. . .Ive got a computer program that I use to track this type of stuff, as well as maintenance. realy cool.
I know the mileage was up there, 550 miles, maybe a little more and added 30 gallons of diesel. this was a straight haul to Little Rock. I got 575 off of 30 gal comeing back. tail winds ROCK[sm=icon_rock.gif]

The information is just for curiosities sake. All these threads concerning MPG with comments like "It's a truck - deal with it" are interesting but my main concern with MPG is not spending any more time at the pump than I have too. I'm also interested in making long 4x4 trips out of town and back without the inconvenience of running out of gas or carrying gallons of fuel in a spare container.
Besides, my friend here at work brags about his new 2500 Ram diesel getting OVER 17 MPG and I'd like to here from other Ram drivers on how their doing on distance between fill ups. Sounds like Drew is going 550 miles + - WOW!

if he's got 3.73 or lower rear axel then him getting over 17 is easy. infact with my 4.10's I'm getting around there if the ricers dont tempt me, but even with the ricers tempting me and my foot on it with 20+ pounds of boost I only drop to the low 15's.
If I am able to lower my RPM's to 2000 or so and stay at 70 I would be getting over the elusive 20 mpg mark. 2000 rpm for me is right around 60, at that speed I do get over 20. but I'm afraid I'm gunna get run over by the 18 wheelers.[:'(]
