LOL, why would you hassle me over what I use in my WS6 when the topic never came up? We're talking about the Hemi here. FWIW, the LS1 has always burned premium.

I ran 91 but saw no real MPG improvements. The extra power of the 91 SC tune was nice, but if i want to go fast and burn gas I drive my patrol unit at the taxpayers expense! =). With the cost of gas slow and steady in the Ram for me. I believe it depends on a few things:
1. Use the truck. mostly HWY or CITY miles.
2. Driving habits. Slow and steady or hammer to the floor, are you towing regularly?
3. Preventive maintenance.
4. Modifications and aftermarket accessories, as well as proper installation of these components.
5. Quality and brand of fuel used 87,89 or 91.

I dont believe that we have enough data or information to positively identify 87 octane gas as a contributing factor in engine failure.
just my 2 cents

I didnt figure you did, just wanted to pull your leg. I've always used 93 in the ram but I switched to 89 and cant tell a difference in the DTE or performance, and the book says to use 89 so i guess i'll just stick with it, i have an old dusty lt1 z28, its good to own a f body and a ram
