Default Which transmissions came in the diesels

So, I have been tossing around the idea of getting a 5.9 2500 for a few months now. I need the bigger wieght cap and my family is growing so the need for the MegCab is a must. I dont know if I will anytime soon since I am driving from DC to Cali because the Air Force is re0-assigning me. So, since I'm buying a new house soon, now might not be the right time but it wont hurt to do the research now. I have been looking at the 5.9 straight 6's since the engine has been around forever and its not choked like the 6.7. I thought that the 5.9 only came with the 4 speed trannys but some places on cars.com are listing it as having a 5 speed. Is this a typo? If not, what years had the 5 speed? Thanks.

They came with 5sp manuals, but 4sp autos. The autos are 48RE's (which they later adapted for the SRT-10 quad cab).
