Ethonal Free
In my flex fuel 4.7 I run the E-20 blend thats 92 octane, with the 91 performance SC tune for 20 cents cheaper than reg unleaded and get almost 14 mpg in town. I ran the E-30 with the 93 tune and noticed more power and worse fuel mileage but I'm happy with the E-20.
Found some more bad news while researching this. The refineries have made a decision out here to blend the gas at a lower octane number and then depend on the jobbers to add the ethanol up to the right octane rating. Right now the highest you can buy is 92 and it looks like refineries are making it to 90 and then adding ethanol to reach the 92 octane rating. Also apparently its state law here in Washington for suppliers to sell gas with ethanol now. Need special permits to sell clean gas for atvs, boats, race cars, or farm use.
