Default 2008 TRX4 Rear End & Towing Capacity

Hello Guys- A couple of quick questions about a truck I am thinking about buying. It is a 2008 TRX4 1500. Will it have the 3.92 rear ends in it as standard equipment for the TRX package or could it have the 3.55's? It does have the hitch receiver built in- so I should be safe to assume it has the tow package as well? Also I haven't been able to find the towing capacities for this truck and the different available rear end ratios . Where can I find this info as I know the different ratios and tire sizes can affect the towing by the thousands of pounds. I want to be able to use the truck to pull a camper which will be about 6500lbs. It has the 5.7L Hemi .--Thanks

5.7L hemi, plenty of power to tow the 6500lbs. I have an '08 brochure and the trx4 package comes with skid plates, LSD, red shocks, tow hooks and aluminum 17' wheels.

With 3.92 gears quad cab config: you can tow 8500lbs
If you have 3.55 config, you can tow 7500lbs.

And for the towing package, it just comes with a hitch and 7 pin in the back. The heavy duty rad's are all standard. I think trx4 comes with 3.92 rear end but not exactly sure.

I have a 2007 TRX4 I thought it would have 3.92's from what I had read, but to my disapointment it has 3.55's if your going to pull the 3.55 is a bad idea but it could have 3.92's you'll have to take a look.

Best thing it to call dodge corporate. I did last night. after a half an hour on the phone, they told me that i can pull 8550 lbs. I got a case number and a name so when i pull close to that in the next few months, i should have not problems but if i do, i have a case number.

I called my local dealer and was told by the salesman that all TRX4 have the 3.92 ratios, however, I followed up with a call to the parts department and found out that -- yes it does only have the 3.55 ratios. OK - not a big deal but what I can't find is what the towing capacity is for the hemi and the 3.55s. I am sure it is around 8000lbs for the 2008 year. Does anyone have a solid link to the towing info from Dodge? It sounds like a lot of fun being on hold with Dodge corporate for a half hour!

Thanks Blacksport- just what I was looking for-- it looks like

Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4WD Short Bed 5.7L V8 7500lbs towing (3.55 ratio) for this truck.

Should be sufficient for what I need to do. I live out on the prairies anyway so I don't have to climb too many hills. Anyone recommend any modifications for towing that would be beneficial? Will a tuner help much more than a k&n intake?

gears. get a set of 4.56s. at least 4.10s. contrary to what you may think, they will actually help your in town gas mileage, and mileage while towing. not to mention they will really wake the truck up. gears will be the single most beneficial mod for towing, guaranteed.
