Default Quick question...

I usually press the OD button to take the 5th gear out in the city, cause when driving at about 50-60 km/h, the truck rumbles for it being in just a low gear. Will that harm anything?

The ONLY time I take it out is when I am pulling my 16ft trailer. Leaving in it will not hurt anything. Are you sure it isnt your MDS kicking in and sounding like that?

I sometimes turn off the OD in town just to keep things a bit more nimble. Will have new gearing tomorrow if all goes will. And hopefully won't feel the need to drop OD anymore.

when you think about it with 5th gear being near 15oo rpm yat 100kmh/63mph you gotta think it never gets there in the city roughly around 25 or 30 mph. I know klh/ at 40 or 50. mds could be the sound it makes.

You're not gonna hurt anything as long as you're not running highway at high speeds where you need that extra gear to keep your gas mileage in tact. Just expect to lose a few MPG because all it does is extend the shifts (i.e. 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd).

Yeah, that makes sense. It just more annoying than anything.
