Default 180 thermostat

I installed the 180 degree thermostat and eFan from Moe's yesterday. It went pretty smooth all toll about 5 hours. I had never seen an eFan installed so just installed it with what I tought looked good. Used the asprin trick that was mentioned about a month ago or so here on the forum. Brillant! I have been wrenching for a very long time and that was a new trick for me. Drove the truck close to 100 miles today. The temperature stayed close to 180 mark even in traffic. The eFan never even had a chance to come on as had I set it for 200 degrees. Really a nice mod. I can see where it might increase mileage as there isn't any fan drag. I mounted the eFan inside the original shoud and it looks completely stock except for the controller mounted on top of the AC shoud. No pictures as there is nothing to see. Hope to have my gears installed tomorrow. The shop was suppose to do it today but when I got there the manager gave me the song and dance routine. No problem, I found another shop that should be able to do a proper job of it.

Yes, I am a little surprised that the engine does sound cleaner at idle but, it feels about the same. I think the gas pump will tell me how good it's working. I'm also thinking this is one of the better mods and recommend it.

Al,
When I heard about the asprin trick I was impressed. Seems the simpler the solution the better it works. OBTW, I'm back in Virginia now.

Yeah.......it's a great idea to burp the truck like that lol.
I guess your feeling the cold out in Virginia?
Post up any differences in MPG's please. I'm planning on doing this mod along with 4:56's hopefully this summer.

Al,
Sorry I'm not going to be able to check the mileage on just the fan. I'm off to the shop to have a DTT and 4:10 gear installed. I'll certainly post the results when finished.
